“I think you could make an argument for anything in terms of, does everyone have sex exactly the same?” Bartlett told BuzzFeed News. And now, as the season finale is set to air Sunday, Murray Bartlett wants viewers to give his character, Armond, a break. But it was the butt-centric sex scene between hotel manager Armond and his subordinate that really got the internet talking, especially about how the scene was being performed.
But still, I think it's a strong possibility.Like many HBO shows, White Lotus hasn’t shied away from nudity and sex (viewers were basically greeted with full frontal).
Obviously I collected evidence in kind of a biased way, since this was just my theory about the character as I was watching each episode, and I wanted to find things that would confirm it.
She gets everything else she wants in life, right? I also don't think she acts like much of a control freak with other people, but obviously there aren't too many scenes where she's not talking just with Paula, so it's hard to say. I think her parents would be supportive of her if she came out, but the fact that Paula seems primarily interested in men is probably very scary for her, since she can't deal with rejection. She did seem genuinely upset here and this does not seem compatible with the assertion that she's just using Paula for her twisted games. We also don't know much about their relationship in the past.Īnyway, the ASMR scene was one thing, but what really convinced me is:ġ) how heartbroken she looked when she followed Paula at night and watched her with Kai.Ģ) the fact that she goes after any guy that Paula is interested in, and how she went to her mom for comfort, crying, after she fought with Paula in the finale. Sure, the evidence is not definitive and the fact they didn't touch on it explicitly in the final episode is probably the biggest argument against it. Hi, I'm a bit late to this subreddit but I just watched the final episode and agree with your theory.
And she already suspected they were seeing each other (she already knew Paula didn't trust her, so it wasn't just that). She didn't look scheming/evil when she saw Paula/Kai. We haven't had a scene of Olivia by herself/without Paula, for an example, and the one we had involved her trying to sabotage the girl's relationship. It does look like she focuses all of her attention on her. I find it possible that she's attracted to Paula and perhaps even in love with her, we haven't seen her start interactions with anyone in this resort besides Paula herself. Maybe she is, maybe she isn't, but nothing she has done so far indicates she's pathological, specially compared to everyone else besides Rachel/Quin/Belinda. The sociopath/narcissist claims are just beyond stupid and pure projection. I'm a 27F therapist by the way, I would never feel actual pleasure talking to people like Olivia in a non-clinical setting lol, but she's clearly just immature and selfish.
I think people project a LOT onto Olivia as a character because of "Gen Z" hate and the typical hatred of younger women that happens on Reddit.
